If you’re a long-standing fan of this addictive trading card game, you may remember first setting foot on the magical land of Lorwyn and its twin Shadowmoor way back in 2007. Fast-forward 18 years, and this whimsical plane is finally back with a bang!

Lorwyn Eclipsed Release Date

The highly anticipated nostalgic tabletop return will be happening on the 23rd January, 2026. The perfect way to beat the January blues this New Year! The release is going to bring exciting new cards, commander decks and booster boxes, with a fresh twist on the original fairy-tale charm of Lorwyn. The cards will be double-sided to represent the game's conflict between the light of Lorwyn and the darkness of Shadowmoor.

The story of Lorwyn Eclipsed

With Oona, Queen of the Fae gone, Lorwyn and Shadowmoor can return to their natural selves. Oona was best known for being a powerful Faerie with immense control over the planes' daytime and nighttime cycle. She had the power to manipulate dreams and completely influence reality, but she is now well and truly gone! Instead of the original cycle, this new updated version works in waves of change through the plane, transitioning from Lorwyn to Shadowmoor and back.

The fresh story will follow a group of Strixhaven students who have arrived in Lorwyn. Players will get the chance to discover how the Phyrexian invasion has affected Lorwyn, bringing them closer to the end of the existing Magic: The Gathering story arc.
