The games specialist had a hugely successful show, taking over 60 staff to manage 800 square feet, hosting exclusive first plays, facilitating multiple tournaments and picking up some great awards along the way!
Esdevium Games has hailed the success of last weekend’s biggest-ever UK Games Expo at Birmingham’s NEC. The show attracted over 25,000 attendees over 3 days to become one of the biggest board gaming events in the world. Esdevium managed a huge 800 square feet area, running games demonstrations on popular titles including Dobble, Ticket to Ride and Colt Express.
The company also helped facilitate a wide range of national tournaments for their games, including the world’s largest-ever tournament for the Star Wars™ X-Wing Miniatures Game. To top off a fantastic show, Esdevium and partners received no less than 11 awards for the games they supply to the UK market, including Best Board Game with Miniatures (Star Wars™ Rebellion), Best Party Game (Codenames) and Best Game Expansion (Colt Express – Horses and Stagecoach).
Esdevium’s Managing Director, Steve Buckmaster, was in attendance at the show:
“We’ve had an incredible show and we feel very privileged not only to be bringing these great award-winning games to the UK, but also from the reaction of the attendees to our games and the show in general. It’s fantastic to see that “specialist” games have now grown to a size for such a show to now exist in the UK!”
Steve also paid homage to the fine work put into the show behind the scenes.
“The Expo has really moved up a level this year, moving into the NEC, and credit must go to the organisers for making it bigger and better than ever before. There was so much going on this year and we’re very proud to play our part in that.”
